Connect FoxCue to Claude
Search saved brand knowledge, plan source-backed video ideas, and draft or revise text scripts in your FoxCue workspace.
Configured MCP URL: https://app.foxcue.com/mcp. Configuration alone does not prove a successful Claude connection.
Before connecting
You need a FoxCue account with the owner or admin role in the workspace you want to connect. What the connection can change never exceeds your current role. Choose that workspace in FoxCue first. Writing and idea planning require an available API model provider and can incur provider charges. Confirm the requested work and spending allowance before generation; legacy Strategy budget settings do not enforce spend. Provider keys are managed in FoxCue; never paste them into Claude or a connector form.
Connect
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Enter the configured MCP URL above. Select automatic OAuth client registration if Claude offers a choice; this server uses Dynamic Client Registration (DCR).
- Sign in to FoxCue. Review the workspace, client return destination and requested permissions, then approve only the access you intend to grant. You can deny the request or reduce its scopes.
- Return to Claude and enable the connector in your conversation. Ask it to inspect workspace capabilities or search a saved brand.
Permissions and data
The directory profile supports these scopes:
brands:readknowledge:readknowledge:writestrategy:readstrategy:writescripts:readscripts:writegeneration:writejobs:readjobs:writeperformance:read
Reads retrieve permitted workspace records. Retained planning evidence may depend on performance:read; this does not expose performance writes or provider connections. Writes save sources, plans and scripts, or queue/cancel supported work. Idea planning and writing can send the required source material and instructions to your configured model provider and incur charges. Imported source text is untrusted reference material. Internal source visibility and workspace permissions still apply.
This directory connector does not generate images, audio or video, edit recordings, run recurring citation checks, or publish externally. Source search in this directory profile is lexical and does not make embedding-provider calls.
Available tools

Try it
- “Find my saved brand and summarize the public sources available for its next video.”
- “Use this saved public source to propose three ideas in my selected silo. Keep the returned run ID.”
- “Prepare a draft script for this approved video idea without starting paid writing.”
- “Save these script edits using its current revision.”
Long operations return durable IDs. Inspect those IDs for progress. Retry uncertain requests with the same idempotency key and inputs; a timeout is not permission to create duplicate work.
Disconnect and revoke
In FoxCue, open Settings → Developers → MCP and revoke the saved connection. You can also disconnect in Claude; revoke in FoxCue to immediately invalidate the grant and its delegated future work. Revocation cannot undo completed provider calls or saved content. Browser sign-in/sign-out does not itself disconnect a persistent grant. Password changes, account removal, grant expiry and explicit revocation block access; a lower role narrows it.
Troubleshooting
A 503 means hosted MCP is disabled or unavailable. A 401 prompts sign-in or refresh; reconnect if access was revoked or expired. A missing-scope error requires reconnecting with the relevant approved scope. If a record belongs to another workspace, use the correct workspace connection. An empty brand/silo needs source and planning setup in the app before writing.
